What money is this?

Every amount on Archery is in dollars. Each network uses one dollar token, and every market on it pays out in that token.

NetworkDollarHow to get it
Arch testnet (now)Test USD (tUSD): Archery’s practice dollar. No real value.Free. Press Get test funds in the wallet panel.
Arch mainnet (not live yet)Arch USD (aUSD): Arch Network’s dollar. From Arch. Archery has no faucet on mainnet.

Why test dollars on testnet

Testers need money they can get for free in a minute. Archery’s faucet can make Test USD. It can’t make Arch USD, and there is no public Arch USD faucet on testnet yet. When there is one, testnet can move to Arch USD so you practise with the same dollar.

Arch USD on mainnet

Arch USD (aUSD): Arch Network’s dollar, backed 1:1 by USDC held by BitGo and Copper. Not insured or guaranteed by Arch or Archery. USDC can lose its peg, and a custodian can freeze or fail. Read Arch’s page on Arch USD.

Why one dollar per deployment

One dollar keeps prices simple and keeps all the money for a market in one place. Changing the dollar means a new deployment: markets on the old one finish and pay out in the old dollar, and nothing mixes. Archery only takes a dollar that nobody can freeze, so no issuer can lock the money held for a market.

Bitcoin later

Paying in native BTC is planned for a later version.

Check the token

Anyone can name a token “Arch USD”, so Archery checks tokens by address, never by name. Test USD is 331ebca9…b368cca0. Arch USD on mainnet is b8586267…0b3b18a4, the address in Arch Wallet’s token list.
